Reflexology is a deeply relaxing, non-invasive complementary therapy, primarily involving the feet
Nobody really understands why we have a map of the body in the feet - but we do - and thanks to cognitive neuroscience we now have the scientific evidence to back up that statement. Did you know we develop our first feet (paddles) at just eight weeks gestation?
Capable of ticking many helpful boxes as part of a well-being programme - from normalising vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, to increasing local perfusion (blood flow) to specific organs of the body, reflexology is a very special therapy indeed.
Alongside helping with more obvious issues such as foot and leg pain, reflexology can be particularly useful when dealing with stress or anxiety, and stress related health conditions, such as endocrine (hormonal) imbalance (sub-fertility, PMT, menopause), digestive issues, lymphatic and circulatory problems. Reflexology is also a principal element in sub-fertility & IVF support.
Sessions last one hour.
🔸 Cost: £35.00
🔸 With Ear Acupuncture: £40.00
Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture is a specialist complementary therapy involving the insertion of small, sterile, disposable needles into the ear.
A relatively painless, wonderfully effective therapy and recognised and utilised within addiction services, ear acupuncture has a wide range of applications, from pain management, to helping with functional disorders, such as irregular heart beat, or disorders of the endocrine, or digestive system. Ear acupuncture can also help with sensory disorders, such as tinnitus, or nervous system conditions, such as Bell’s palsy.
There are over 200 acupuncture points on the ear. In 1990 the World Health Organisation (WHO) issued a standardised list of 39, of which 10 are used most frequently. Ear acupuncture sessions can therefore be tailored to the individual.
Take home press pins are included in the session price. Ear acupuncture can be used alongside reflexology, or even counselling. Sessions last one hour.

Have you ever wondered why your digestive system, or hormones, seem to go bananas during times of stress, or why you seem to pick up every cough or cold going? Stress is undoubtedly a normal, everyday part of life and while some stress can be good for our health, too much stress, referred to as chronic stress, as well as disrupting our emotional health, can also result in disruptions in systems related to our physical health.
Psychoneuroimmunology, or PNI, is the scientific study of interactions between psychological processes and the nervous, immune and endocrine systems of the body, and vice versa. Psychoneuroimmunology demonstrates that chronic stress not only has the potential of negatively impacting our emotional health and sleep quality, but stress is also capable of causing major disruption within a number of physical body systems.
Chronic stress, for example, not only elevates the production of glucose and anti-inflammatory substances in the body, but it also curbs systems considered as nonessential in the fight or flight situation - disrupting the function of the immune system, digestive system, endocrine system (hormones) and the bodies growth and repair systems.
Taking active steps to develop our levels of self awareness and minimise instances of chronic stress becomes a vital part of maintaining not only high levels of emotional well-being, but our physical wellness too.
Complementary therapies don’t make stress go away, but they can act as a kind of punctuation during times of stress - with sessions providing space in which to let go, relax and to let the brain know, in this moment, the environment is safe.
Chronic stress manifests when the stress response is left activated, without interruption. Alongside helpful activities such as yoga and meditation, complementary therapies offer the user a space in which to consciously turn off their stress response, and to purposefully relax.
Each therapy additionally has is own unique benefits. While reiki offers an hour of silence, warmth and an increased sense of emotional wellness, reflexology can often be experienced as both relaxing and stimulating all at the same time. Reflexology also helps to stimulate the emotional centres of the brain, increases helpful neurotransmitters, such as oxytocin and GABA, and it can be used to target specific organs and system of the body with improved oxygenated blood flow.
Auricular acupuncture has a long established and well studied history in detox drug and alcohol support settings, and one of its most useful aspects is the ability to leave press pins, or magnets, in the ears - meaning the therapy also possesses a take home aspect.
